How to enter flash mode

Hold Power + Volume Down when the device is off to enter download mode.

Installation

Note Note: Weston is broken. Only Xfce4 has been tested working with poor performance.

Put device in download mode and then execute $ pmbootstrap flasher flash_kernel. Then reboot the device in download mode again and execute $ pmbootstrap flasher flash_rootfs.

XORG issues

As of 2024, the device boots fine but since lightdm disabled automatically starting X on boot without proper GPU drivers, you need to alter some stuff to get Xfce4 to work.

Firstly, run

echo export DISPLAY=:0 >> ~/.bashrc
source ~/.bashrc

.

Then, open /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf and uncomment logind-check-graphical=true then set it to false. Save and reboot!

UART

UART can also be accessed with a special Micro-USB cable that puts a 619kΩ resistor between the ID and GND pin. The memory address for UART should be 0xffa28000. Note that you won't be able to use UART and USB at the same times this way.

Accessing S-Boot

Boot into download mode first, then press Volume Down to cancel and immediately hold Volume Up on the tablet and enter in your serial console after the screen goes black until you see the S-BOOT # prompt.

If you only want logs from the boot process, don't hold down enter in the serial console .
